“Now the course can be stretched to 7,400 yards, the greens have grown in beautifully and they’re just glass smooth,” said Christianson, who got to play the course right after the re-opening by Jones. “They were concerned with making it a great place for the BMW Championship.”

Berner catches PGA Hall of Fame member Gary Wiren - director of instruction for Donald Trump Golf Properties and founder of Golf Around the World - between lessons, and Wiren gives some simple ideas on how to add yardage off the tee.

“My first answer is to have two strong parents,” said Wiren, chuckling. Wiren added that many older golfers lose distance, but a consistent training regimen can help out.

Tucker, just returning from a golf trip to Scotland, says that of all the rounds he played there, none took more than four hours.

“First of all, you only have one set of tees to play from,” Tucker said. “A big eye-opener over there is that the handicap system is different. In the U.S. you count every round, but over there you only count scores from medal play.

“Plus, over there, they save their drinking for after the round,” said Tucker, laughing.
